Yomi Fabiyi born in Somolu, Lagos State in the early 80’s. He attended Odunlade Primary School and then proceeded to Igbobi College, Yaba. An Actor, Producer, Screenplay Artist, Director and Human Rights Ambassador.
Yomi Fabiyi journey into the movie industry started in 2001 with Alh. Babatunde Omidina a.k.a Baba Suwe before he later joined Odunfa Caucus under Alh. Yinka Quadri, Alh. Taiwo Hassan and Alh. Abbey Lanre.
In 2003, he got political appointment as Special Assistant & Legislative Aide to Hon. Omogoriola Ogbara at the Lagos State House of Assembly. Combining both movies and government work until 2007 when the term elapsed.
As a producer, he started in 2005 with the movie Omi Adagun. Other production to his name include: Pajawiri, Mofe, Ona Abayo, Metomi, Father Moses, Agbede Meji, Awosakun, Classroom Love, Your Wife Is My Slot, Omi Adagun, Sadaat, Onikeede, Agbe S’orisun.
He has won awards locally and internationally. Quite noticeable are: Best Actor in Leading Role 2016 (Best of Nollywood Awards), Best Movies 2016(Yomafa Awards), Best Producer 2016( City People Entertainment Award), Multiple Winner, African Films Award, London(2016, 2017, 2019). He has equally recieved award in various Universities, polytechnics and delivered papers there too.
In April, 2018, the US Embassy, Lagos in conjunction with CRALI decorated Yomi Fabiyi along side two other Nigerians: popular hip-hop musician, Simi and Former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and co-founder Bring Back Our Girls, Madam Oby Ezekwesili as HUMAN RIGHTS AMBASSADORS.
Giving back to the society, Yomi Fabiyi has rendered many humanitarian supports. In 2019, his NGO on Human Rights, Break The Silence FOUNDATION organised a HUMAN RIGHTS SUMMITS held at Sheraton Hotels, Lagos with logistic support from Annesty International & Cogito Ergo Sum.
In the same 2019, Yomi Fabiyi became the first indigenous filmmaker to go on a World Tour(4 continents) at a stretch with his movie(Sadaat) to: Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom and Nigeria.
Fabiyi is the CEO Rocklaf Studio Int’l, a subsidiary of Yomi Fabiyi Films Production.
